Employers and businesses across the borough are being asked to help make Christmas special for families in need.
Last year, a record number of gifts was donated to Rochdale Giving Back Christmas Toy Appeal, which meant that more than 2,700 children living in poverty had presents to open on Christmas Day.
More residents and businesses than ever before stepped up to help, donating a record 10,000 toys and gifts which were sorted and delivered to homes last Christmas.
Since 2013 the appeal has provided festive cheer for thousands of children and teenagers. It is organised by Rochdale Council’s staff charity in partnership with Rochdale Football Club, Rochdale Riverside and Your Trust.
Before the launch of this year’s appeal, businesses are being asked to help in a variety of ways.
Rochdale Council shared: “Soon our Christmas Toy Appeal will return, run by council staff and supported through the Number One Riverside Rochdale Giving Back CIO charity.

“Now we’re looking for businesses to help ensure children across the borough don’t go without a gift this Christmas.
“Whether you donate toys or cash, raise funds, host a staff collection or become a drop-off point, your support will make a real difference.
“If your business or employer can support the appeal, please email toycollection@rochdale.gov.uk
“Together, we can make sure every child in Rochdale has something to smile about this Christmas.”
For individuals wanting to donate gifts, details of drop-off points will be announced next month.
