A loyalty scheme is being launched to encourage people in Middleton to shop locally.
Launched by Middleton Cooperating, Midd Quid is currently in a pilot phase before the full launch.
It is a loyalty scheme for shoppers and traders in the town that sees customers earn Midd Quids when they shop at participating businesses. They can then use their points on offers from participating businesses.
Middleton Fish Bar, which went live with its trial yesterday, shared: “The concept is simple … spend local and get rewarded.
“For every purchase of Two for a tenner Tuesday, you will earn 1 Midd Quid if paying for your meal by card and 2 Midd Quids if you pay by cash.
“These can be redeemed in other local participating businesses.

Middleton businesses promote offers on Midd Quid
“Middleton is changing . . . let’s get our town booming!”
Amigos cafe shared: “It’s not a scam or a subscription thing. It’s a proper, good project, created, designed and run by Middletonians as a way for people to support local businesses and us businesses to reward people for that support.
“There’s absolutely no catch at all. We’re proud to be part of it and we wouldn’t be if it wasn’t for the benefit of everyone in Midd.
“There’s loads of offers on already from other businesses so get onboard and have a look.”
Chris Taylor replied: “Love this idea. Middleton loyalty scheme designed to keep your money circulating through independent Middleton businesses rather than disappearing off to massive chains.”
Emma Winstanley shared: “Love this! Great idea! I will be spreading the word to my fellow Middletoninans.”
